Pope Resigns what is next?

Pope Benedict XVI has resigned due to failing health.  He will step down on February 28.  This leads to some interesting assumptions.  Who will replace him?  Tom Horn wrote a book some time ago called Petrus Romanus.  It is based on a prophecy from the middle ages by a Catholic preist call Saint Malachi.  Upon a visit to Rome, he was said to have had a vision of the line of Popes.  While we cannot line this prophecy as an addendum to the scriptures you carry with you to church, just like the book of Enoch and Macabees, it does make for a good read.

So far the Popes have stood up to the vague predicitons of their reign.  John Paul the first was said to be of the Moon and he ruled for exactly one lunar cycle.   John Paul II was of the labor of the sun and was the first Pope to travel around the world.  He was born on a solar eclipse and was buried during one.

The final Pope has this prediction:

In extreme persecution, the seat of the Holy Roman Church will be occupied by Peter the Roman, who will feed the sheep through many tribulations, at the term of which the city of seven hills will be destroyed, and the formidable Judge will judge his people. The End.

Does this line up with scripture?  Revelation 17 predicts a city with seven mountains will be destroyed.  He calls it Mystery Babylon.  It is a harlot, persecuting the saints and very wealthy.  While there is much debate on who the Babylon of this passage and the other passages, It lines up with the idea of Rome being that city.  There is the thought of two Babylons where the second of Revelation 18 is a different city.   Either the literal Babylon in Iraq or possibly New York City.

Let's clear up a few things.  This prediction does not say that the final Pope will be antichrist.  It does not say that the final Pope will be evil.  It does not say anything about his character or what he is going to do.  It just says that he will be the one that leads a sheeplike people through very turbulent times before the end.  The Bible does say that if they don't repent Jesus will send the church of Thyatyra through great tribulation while he keeps the Philadelphia church from the time of testing that comes upon the whole world.

One other thing that it does not predict is when or how far into his reign all this will start.  It does not say that it is immediate.  It does say that it will happen during his reign as Pope.  "Peter the Roman" is a young man, then we could still have a few years.  I somehow don't think so.  The idea that Benedict is retiring now which hasn't happened since the middle ages, says that something is ready to break.

One phrase no one is looking at in the prophecy is the formidable Judge will judge his people.  The Bible speaks of Judgment coming on the world and each individual standing before Jesus to answer for his deeds.  Judgement day is closer then you think.  You can stand before the bema and receive a reward for what you did in Christ or stand before the great white throne and receive the penalty for your sins.  The choice is yours.  Ask for Jesus' forgiveness today so you can stand before the Bema. 

Gun Ban Debate

The raging gun debate right now in America down right scares me.  So let me be perfectly clear.  My Father comes from a long line of hunters who in many cases packed their own shot gun shells.  So why do we need guns in America?  Why don't we need guns in America.  On the why don't we need guns.  First they are a dangerous weapon.  In the wrong hands, serious injury and death can occur.  Criminals with guns can cause a lot of damage  Proper precautions must be made when you own guns that small children, and clumsy people do not accidentally shoot off one.  Also, you must make sure that people who are on psychotropic drugs do not get a hand on your weapons.  For this to happen you need to make sure your guns are put away in a location that is hard for the average person to get to and you can get to very quickly.  A locked gun cabinet with an easy for you to get to key is best. 

Reasons to have guns is long.  The first reason why we ever buy a gun is that someone invited us to go hunting.  Today, with food readily available, hunting is a sport not a necessity.  I don't doubt that it may become a necessity once again in this country.  Once you have a gun, you can find many uses.  Dealing with that rabid skunk that keeps wandering around your house.  Dealing with a predator such as a cougar or a bear.  Interesting to note that with the fourth seal of Revelation 6, that wild animals will be killing humans.  Of course the other one is the defending of your house from burglars.  Much has been documented lately about how that works.  I remember a criminal lose in my neighborhood and my father sat up all night with his shotgun at the ready. 

The one use of a gun which none of us really wants to do is defend ourselves against the government.  This would be either corrupt local law enforcement or national law enforcement or military.  We know from certain cases that it can be a losing battle.   Look at Waco.  Whether you agree or disagree with David Koresh and his theology, he had stock piled weapons, and the ATF felt it had to deal with the threat.  They used tanks to come against the compound.  Many innocent women and children died in that massacre.  So in dealing with the government and you are out manned and out gunned, you will have to make the decision to be a marter or give up peacefully.   Hopefully, you will be allowed to.  In German occupied countries, many were not allowed to.  They were executed.

So why do you need a semi-automatic?  Answer, because the government has tanks.  The second amendment was so that every man had a weapon and could join a militia at a moments notice and defend their homes from any enemy, foreign or domestic.  With what is going on right now along our southern border, it is not a good time to talk about disarming Americans.  These people need to be able to defend their homes against invaders from Mexico.  So I would say the Citizens need to have available,  semi-automatic weapons, rocket launchers, grenade launchers, and even anti-aircraft guns.  We haven't felt like we needed such weaponry because we haven't felt threatened by an enemy.  But now we do.  The questions always comes up about atomic weapons.  On that one I would say no.  It does too much collateral damage.  The constitutional question is an interesting one.

Should foreigners be allowed to have guns in America?  They are not American citizens and do not have constitutional protection and they should be disarmed.   That includes any foreign troops that are in America. Last hing we need is a foreigner causing the problems.  

The objection comes up that if we really have an invasion, you can just call 911 and let the authorities handle the situation.  Sounds good on paper, but local law enforcement has been spread thin lately with budget cuts.  Most of the time that they arrive at a scene, all they can do is write the report.  If you have the gun, you can deal with the situation until law enforcement arrives.  Nothing like being able to do CPR yourself.  You can save a life while the ambulance is on the way.

What is going to happen if the current government bans guns?  First, I don't think they will go that far.  I think they will first register guns.  Later they will come for them.  But if they do ban  guns and force law enforcement to confiscate them, here is what you are going to see.  Most of America will turn them in and take the small amount of money that will be offered for them.  You will see crime rate rise.  There will be pockets of protesters that will not turn in their guns.  You will see firefights between government authorities and these resistance groups.  What we pray is that the law enforcement stand down.  After all it is an unlawful order to get the weapons.  Only if the Second Amendment is repealed will it be lawful.  There will be casualties on both sides and many will be innocent.  This will not be a civil Civil war like the first one was.  The weapons are much more powerful today then in 1861.  You may see Air Force or even Navy called into action which would really make things difficult.  In either case it will not be pretty.  We could even see foreign troops used to enforce the law.  They will not stand down.  They have not sworn an allegiance to defend the constitution. 

Is there a Biblical precedence for this happening?  Yes. I Samuel 13:19 says, "Now there was no smith found throughout all of the land of Israel: for the Philistines said, Lest the Hebrews make them swords or spears."  What was the result of that?  The ended up taking farm equipment such as pitchforks and axes down to the smiths in Philistia and had them sharped and used them in the day of battle.  

I know Alex Jones made a fool of himself on CNN by not discussing the issue civilly.  I think he did the wrong thing by giving Peirs Morgan the time of day.  He did get his point across though.  Don't come for the guns, it will be a big mistake.  Peirs Morgan is not a person that should be talking. As a British Subject, he is not one that should join the debate.  That is subversion.   Russia Today(RT) and Chinese TV (CCTV) need to stay out of it too.  This is a debate between citizens.  Anyone who is from outside the US that joins the debate only wants a disarmed populace when they invade.  It was the Japanese Admiral Yamamoto that said, "I dare not invade the American mainland, there would be rifle behind every blade of grass."

It was the Chinese Communist Party Chairman Mao Tse Tung that said, "Power comes from the barrel of a gun."  The question is, if the US Government is buying up all the ammunition, and they are trying to take away our guns, what are they planning?  Time will only tell.  For right now If you own a gun hold on to it.  The time may be coming where you may need it.

Merry Christmas

Over two thousand years ago in the lonely town of Bethlehem, a child was born.  He grew to be a man.  It was documented that over his life, he fulfilled over three hundred prophecies.  He died, was buried and rose again on the third day.  He was seen by over five hundred witnesses and then ascended into heaven.  On this Christmas eve, we would want to wish each and every reader of this blog a Merry Christmas.  And remind you that while on his first trip he fulfilled prophecy to the letter at the exact right time in the exact right way.  He is coming again and will fulfill prophecy again.  Not any prophecy written by Mayan Indians, or Buddhist or Muslims.   But scripture, completed over nineteen hundred years ago.  This same Jesus who ascended into heaven will return in like fashion.  May he always and forever remain the reason for the season.  May he fill your heart with his presence.  And may the new year bring you all the joy the Spirit can bring.

Offending the Little Ones

Yesterday there was a shooting in Newtown, Connecticut.  Twenty-eight are dead.  Twenty are children.  I was looking up the verse today about harming the little ones and I found it rather fascinating.    The verse in Matthew 18:6 says.  "If any one should offend one of the little ones, it is better that a millstone be thrown around his neck and he be cast into the sea."   The word offend in the Greek is the word that we get scandalize from.  The idea is to entrap, trip up or entice to sin, apostasy or displeasure.  The Middle English word for offend means, make to.  So who is more at fault in this crime?  Is it the person pulling the trigger or is it the education system that has scandalized our little ones?

When doing a word search for millstone, I looked at the four usages in the New Testament.  There is three in the gospels all having to do with this conversation that Jesus was having about the children with his disciples.  Matthew 18:6, Mark 9:42, Luke 17:2.

The next usage is in Revelation 18:21-22.  It refers to Babylon.  "And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea saying, Thus with violence shall the great city Babylon be thrown down and shall be no more at all.  And the voice of the harpers, and musicians, and of pipers and trumpeters shall be heard no more at all in thee; and no craftsman, of whatsoever craft he be, shall be found any more in thee; and the sound of a millstone shall be heard no more at all in thee;"

Is this an indictment against Babylon?  Has Babylon scandalized the little ones?  I ask you.  If America is Babylon then we are in trouble?  If Rome is Babylon, then they are in trouble?  Be careful how you are teaching the little ones.  Proverbs 22:6 says "Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it". 

Connecticut. school shooting

As of this time, I have news that 26 are dead 18 are students in an elementary school in Connecticut.   Of course we are going to give our condolences to the families of these children and teachers.

The Bible says in 1 Timothy that the last days  will be perilous times.  It doesn't matter what you do it will be dangerous.  I have reffed basketball in Columbine.  I know what peril is.  Will it get worse.  It has been trending that way.  Is there something behind hind it?   We can always ask.

First of all they say that the shooter is a father and is among the dead.  How convenient.  Nothing like a dead suspect to suspend the investigation.  It was used with Kennedy. was declared a lone gunman and Ruby killed him in broad daylight.  There is no way of having a trial if the the person who is declared to be the perpetrator is dead.   So at least with Kennedy, there has been private investigations.

Why children?  First it gets every ones attention.  Second, it gets the emotions involved.  It worked with Oklahoma City.   Third Satan has always wanted a virgin sacrificed.   The more innocent the better.  Look at the fires of Molach.  Where children were burned to death on purpose. 

The call is going to be to ban guns.  Don't fall for it.  The ban should be for mind control medicines and black ops programs in the government.   We put kids on prozack and then they play violent video games.  At some level they snap and then go shooting.  There are black ops programs in the government to promote mind control activities.  Usually you find that more than one shooter was involved and they kill one so that the investigation is off.  Other situations such as the Fort Bliss shooting was a Muslim extremist, but I don't think that this is it. 

Bob Costas last week called for a gun ban.  We don't need that.  That is going to start a civil war.  This country needs a lot of prayer.  But Satan is doing his best right now to create fear.  We have Dec 21 coming up and this can make it worse.  People are already suicidal over that.  So let's get our heads together and keep things straight.  Israel has M16 in lockers in all classrooms.  No school shootings.

Alex Jones says Rapture a hoax?

Listening to Alex Jones this morning he is accusing 501c3 companies that teach the rapture are the problem.  So I need to address several issues here.

First most 501c3 corporations known as churches do not teach the rapture.  They are mostly amilliniel or don't teach any eschatology.  The true churches that have not become a 501c3 corporation. teach a rapture. What is a 501c3 corporation?  It is a not for profit organization for purposes of making charitable contributions.  Churches do not have to become one.  Red Cross, and other non church affiliated organizations do.

The accusation is that if your church is a 501c3, then they have to take orders from the government to keep their tax exempt status.  This is why churches are not allowed to endorse candidates for elections.  I don't advise endorsing candidates anyway because they are all corrupt at some level.  Ask Richard Nixon.

So what is going on with the Rapture theology?    The rapture in many circles is taught wrong.  I know I have heard it many times.  "Before it gets really bad we are out of here".  Jesus said in John 16:33, " that in this world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world."  So we need to be prepared for tribulation.  Americans in this Laodecian society are very soft.  We can't handle it it if someone puts a gun to our head and says deny Jesus or die. 

The correct teaching is that we are to be engaged until he comes.  When I was running track, I was told to keep going until you hit the finish tape.  Many a race was lost in the last couple of yards when the one head relaxed.  Keep going.  Keep sharing the gospel.  Keep writing your congressman.  Keep attending your county party conventions.  Stay engaged and stay informed.  This is not a time to quit.  2 Thessalonians 2:7  tells us that he that letteth with let until he be taken out of the way.  Until it is gone, we are to be a force of good in this world.

As I wrote in a previous article, we are to play until we here the whistle.  Play until you hear the last trump.  Don't let Alex Jones or anyone else influence your theology.  Alex also believes that man is tens of thousands of years old and has evolved.  The Bible clearly puts man at six thousand years.  Get your theology from the Bible.  Keep going.
